Indonesia is an archipelago comprising approximately 17,508 islands. The contry has many natural and cultural attractions (rainforest, beaches and island resorts, volcanic mountains and ancient temples, ect). Also distintive is the Komodo island the natural habitat of the komodo dragon.

Capital: Jakarta. Language: Indonesian. Currency: Indonesian Rupiah. Population: Approx. 238,000,000 Climate: generally tropical monsoon and temperatures are high all year round.

Scuba Diving in Indonesia

Diving in Indonesia you will find one of the top world's coral reefs, with many different species of marine life and the opportunity to dive in deep water trenches, volcanic sea mounts, World War II wrecks, and much more.

Bunaken National Marine Park, near Manado, and Raja Ampat archipelago, between Misool and Waigeo islands are consider one of the best when it comes to marine life diversity. Diving in the area you will come across sharks, dolphins, manta rays, turtles, morays, cuttlefish, octopus, scorpionfish and many more living organisms.

The island of Bali also is a great destination for diving with many sites around the island. Including the wreck Liberty, a 120M/396F U.S. Army commissioned transport vessel, that lays near Tulamben Bay in Bali. Other destinations when diving in Indonesia to consider are Lombok, Bangka, Biak islands and the Alor Archipelago.

Beside diving in Bali, tell us about the area: Bali has lots of great dive and snorkelling sites. It also has beaches, surfing and other water sports. Volcanos, mountains, lakes, trekking, temples, culture, yoga, massage and lots of great places to eat and drink. There are lots of places to visit such as Kuta for nightlife, Seminyak for food, Canggu or Nusa Dua for surfing and relaxing, Ubud for spiritual retreats, Lovina for dolphin sighting trips.
Describe types of diving in Bali: Diving with manta rays, mola mola (giant sunfish), wreck dives on USAT Liberty, Kubu & Japanese wrecks. Macro diving, drift dives, deep, snorkelling, boat dives, shore dives, night dives, wall dives.

How many dive sites in the area: 30+

Best dive sites in Bali: USAT Liberty Wreck at Tulamben. The Jetty at Padang Bai. Manta Point at Nusa Penida.
