Thailand, formerly known as Siam, is located at the centre of the Indochina peninsula in Southeast Asia. The country is rich in many natural resourses, such as mineral deposits of gold, coal, lead and precius stones. The central plain of Thailand contains vast espanses of paddy fields that grow enough rice to rank Thailand as one of the world's leading producers.

Thailand's beaches and islands attract millions of visitors each year from all over the globe. The most developed beach resorts areas are Pattaya, Phuket and Ko Samui. Krabi Province has some beautiful spots, including the long golden beaches of Ko Lanta. Ko Phi Phi.

Capital: Bangkok. Language: Thai Language. Currency: Thai baht. Population: Approx. 67,000,000 Climate: Subtropical climate, with heavy monsoon rains from June to October, a cool season from October to March and a hot season from March to June.

Scuba Diving in Thailand

When looking to do some diving in Thailand you will notice that the country is becoming more popular every year thanks to the beautiful reefs and many dive sites to choose from in the area.

In the Gulf of Thailand the mayor destinations are Koh Tao, Pattaya and Koh Chumphon. In the Andaman Sea the best dive sites can be found in the province of Kadri, that includes the island Koh Lanta and some others, Phuket and the island Koh Similan.

Thailand Dives Sites

Koh Tao

Koh Tao is a tropical paradise located in the Gulf of Thailand. There are over 30 dive sites on offer from shallow tranquil bays for diver training to Open water sites offering depths to 40 meters. Also there 3 wrecks which can be explored from a quick trip on the dive boats from koh Tao. The Island also offers excellent restaurants and night life along with accommodation from budget to resort style.
