The region takes its name from that
of the
Carib,
an ethnic group present in the Lesser Antilles and parts of adjacent
South America at the time of European contact.
The climate of the region is tropical and rainfall varies with
elevation, size and water currents.
Winters are warm, but drier. And the downfall is the hurracane
season that goes from June to November.

The waters of the Caribbean sea
offers a
fascinating underwater variety
of barrier reefs, walls, canyons, caves, and wrecks. The abundance and
variety of the marine live can change from island to island.
Diving is available through a wide variety of dives stores, resorts and
large boats with room accommodations.
